Health Services Research and Health Disparities Workshop
to be held in
San Francisco, California, Saturday and Sunday, September 11-12, 2010
This is a FREE Workshop. Suitable Minority Students/Professionals* will receive air and lodging stipend. Students/Professionals will have the opportunity of presenting, and get feedback, on their health services research projects. We request the submission of a 200-word structured abstract of a completed or a planned study in health services research** to the email address below by the DEADLINE of Friday, September 3rd 2010.

*Under federal guidelines, to be eligible for travel support applicants must be of minority background and be U.S. citizen, non-citizen nationals, or permanent US residents by the time of the award. Nationally, groups found to be underrepresented in biomedical and behavioral research include, but are not limited to, African Americans, Hispanic Americans, Native Americans, Alaska Natives and natives of the U.S. Pacific Islands.
** Health services research is defined by AHRQ as a “field of inquiry” addressing a wide-range of issues, including consumer education; patient outcomes and effectiveness of care; health care quality; health care for minority, elderly, and other special populations; health care costs and financing; information for health care policymakers; and access to care and health care delivery.
