Best Student Prize Paper Award - 2012 Call for Submissions
The American College of Epidemiology invites submissions for the 2012 Student Prize. (Click here to view list of past awardees)
Award Description
This prize recognizes an outstanding scientific contribution by a student of epidemiology. The Student Prize consists of:
1) Financial assistance to attend the Annual Meeting of the American College of Epidemiology.
2) Presentation of the paper at the annual meeting.
3) Expeditious review of the paper for publication in the Annals of Epidemiology.
Eligibility Criteria
Students who are eligible for Associate Member status are invited to submit a paper. Students must be currently enrolled in Masters or Doctoral epidemiology training programs, or have completed training no earlier than January 1, 2012.
Paper Submission
The submitted paper should contain the findings of original research conducted by the student during training and should be suitable for publication. The style should follow the format of the Annals of Epidemiology (Click here to view Author Information). Papers submitted may be sole-authored, or, if co-authored, the student should be the lead author and the student's advisor should document the roles of the student and the other co-authors in the advisor letter.
The deadline for receipt of submissions is April 30, 2012. PDF versions of the paper, a letter from the advisor attesting to the fact that the work was completed while the student was in a degree program and, if indicated, documenting author roles should be submitted with a cover letter written by the student that describes the significance of the work and includes contact information (please include postal and e-mail addresses, as well as telephone and fax numbers).
