National Bioethics Advisory Commission Draft Report and Recommendations

On December 19, the National Bioethics Advisory Commission (NBAC) posted its draft report, "Ethical and Policy Issues in Research Involving Human Participants", on its website (www.bioethics.gov) for public comment. In this report, NBAC makes a number of recommendations for overhauling the system for oversite of research involving human subjects.  Comments are due by February 17, 2001  A hard copy of the report may be requested by calling (301) 402-4242.  Written comments can be provided electronically or through mail or fax, but electronic submissions (by email or through the website) are preferred.
