Improving Reality: the role of modeling in epidemiology
The American College of Epidemiology invites the submission of abstracts for consideration for poster presentations at our annual meeting, which will be held at The Grand Hyatt, San Francisco, CA, September 11-14, 2010.  Poster presentations provide an opportunity for participants in the ACE annual meeting to share their work with interested colleagues in an informal, relaxed setting.

Poster sessions are prominently scheduled during the ACE meeting and several posters are selected for merit awards. This year's meeting theme is "Improving Reality: the role of modeling in epidemiology." The proposed theme will focus the conference on the substantive issues of model building and development; on the theoretical and epidemiologic issues that the use of models raises; and on the social and political implications of their use.   These issues will be explored through invited keynote speakers, invited plenary sessions, submitted papers, posters, and workshops on modeling methods, providing a mix of conceptual overview and technical detail. Posters addressing the meeting theme are particularly encouraged; however, submissions from other areas of epidemiology are also welcome. Accepted abstracts will be published in the program and the Annals of Epidemiology. The deadline for abstract submission is May 1, 2010. For more information please visit www.acepidemiology.org

Abstracts should be prepared according to the instructions provided.

Abstracts must be received on-line by May 1, 2010. Abstracts reporting work done since May 1 may be submitted as “Late Breakers”. The deadline for receipt of late-breaker abstracts is June 15, 2010. Late-breaker Abstracts should be prepared according to the instructions provided.
