Dr.
Hartge is the Deputy Director of the Epidemiology
and Biostatistics Program in the Division
of Cancer Epidemiology and Genetics of the National
Cancer Institute. She
has led major studies of the etiology of lymphoma,
melanoma, and cancers of the bladder, ovary, and
breast. Dr.
Hartge has also conducted research in epidemiological
methods and study design. She served as the Assistant
Editor of the American Journal of Public Health (1988-92)
and now serves on the editorial board of the journal
Epidemiology. Dr.
Hartge lectures as an Adjunct Professor at
George Washington University. Finally, she was elected to the American Epidemiological Society
in 2000.
