Dr.
McTyre is Practice Director for Epidemiology & Biostatistics
at The Weinberg Group, Inc. She
has dedicated her 20-year career to the appropriate
application of epidemiologic methods. Resolving scientific
issues affecting both government and private clients,
Dr. McTyre has consulted a variety of different clients,
focusing on the strategic design and implementation
of a wide range of projects involving exposures and
human health.
For
The Weinberg Group, Dr. McTyre manages a technical
team focused on assisting clients with study design,
implementation, analysis, and interpretation of epidemiological
studies. She leads assignments on behalf of pharmaceutical
and medical device companies and provides analysis
of the role and application of epidemiological techniques
in public health assessment, occupational and environmental
health, and clinical risk evaluations.
In
addition to providing critical state-of-the-science
reviews of existing epidemiology data, Dr. McTyre provides
expert opinions on a variety of topics including alcohol,
Fetal Alcohol Syndrome, asbestos, lead, environmental
tobacco smoke, implanted medical devices, drugs and
pharmaceuticals products. She
is skilled in translating complex scientific concepts
to lay audiences and the media. She
has written educational pieces and conducted training
seminars on the nuances of epidemiology, tailored to
different audiences. Dr.
McTyre is active in the American Public Health Association
and the Society for Epidemiological Research, and is
a member of the American College of Epidemiology. |
