Dr. Eliseo Pérez-Stable, MD
Director of NIH’s National Institute of Minority Health and Health Disparities (NIMHD) 
Dr. Pérez-Stable has authored seminal works on improving the health of racial and ethnic minorities, as well as underserved populations. He is also a world-renowned authority on tobacco control  and aging among minorities. Dr. Pérez-Stable is a leading U.S. expert on advancing patient-centered care, improving cross-cultural communication skills among health care  professionals, and  promoting diversity in the biomedical research workforce.  Under  Dr. Perez- Stable’s stewardship, NIMHD conducts and  supports research, training, research capacity and  infrastructure development, public  education, and  information dissemination programs to improve minority health and reduce health disparities.
