As part of the largest organization focused on the professional needs of epidemiologists, members form an important network to promote epidemiology as both a discipline and a profession. There are four levels of membership in the American College of Epidemiology: Affiliate, Associate, Member, and Fellow. As a Member or Fellow you have an opportunity to vote and hold leadership positions in the College governance structure. Associate Members may sit on all College committees and one Associate Member may serve on the ACE Board of Directors.

In the College, there are many opportunities for career development and networking:

Professional Development:

  • Leadership opportunities within ACE governance structure

  • Through participation as active member of committees or workgroups, you can influence ACE educational offerings

  • ACE’s official journal, Annals of Epidemiology, on-line access

  • ACE Newsletter
  • Advance notice of text publications in the field of epidemiology

Reduced Fees for:

  • Low annual membership fees, particularly for Associate Members
  • ACE annual meeting registration
  • All ACE publications, services, and workshops
  • Educational development workshops (80% discount)
  • Opportunity to join the International Epidemiology Association (IEA) at a reduced rate (currently $25)

Professional recognition by:

  • Receipt of certificate of membership
  • Presenting your research at ACE meetings
  • General members may use the MACE (Member of the American College of Epidemiology) distinction
  • Fellows may use the FACE (Fellow of the American College of Epidemiology) distinction
  • Fellows are honored at ACE annual meetings and highlighted in the ACE Newsletter
